Jamila’s grandmother has returned from Hajj with some amazing water: Zamzam. Water that has a whole ocean of history behind it. Join Jamila as she listens to her grandmother tell the wonderful tale of a very special woman named Hajar, whom Allah blessed with a holy spring in the middle of a barren desert…
This rhyming story tells the story of Zamzam and Hajar in a very lovely way. The struggles, hopes and trials that Hajar and her son Ismail (AS) faced are beautifully embodied inside this book. This story shows the unshakable faith in Hajar. Readers come to appreciate this brave, noble lady who we remember everytime we drink Zamzam and do Sa’ee (Safa and Marwa).
A blessed tale told in such a fun, rhyming way, and easy for kids to understand. You can also download a free Zamzam workbook to do some activities and quiz questions based on the story.
Overall, I really enjoyed this story, and it is a brilliant read for Dhul hijjah!
