Crescent Moons And Pointed Minarets (A muslim book of shapes)

Written by: Hena Khan @henakhanbooks

Illustrated by: Mehrdokht Amini

A square garden, a crescent-shaped moon, and so much more. In this beautifully illustrated story, filled with geometric patterns, children learn about shapes in a fun way. From fountains to make wudu to islamic traditions, readers learn so much more than just shapes.

I love this book because of the lovely rhythm and rhyme that brings warmth and softness to the story.

I also like that it celebrates people and places from different cultures, races and countries. You’ll be travelling around the world to discover many wonderful designs from across the Muslim world. Children can appreciate the shapes and designs in our rich history.

Another thing I love about this book is the unique, amazing illustrations, filled with so many gorgeous islamic patterns.

This is a fantastic book for children to learn about shapes and islam.
