The Proudest Blue

Author: Ibtihaj Muhammad/ S.K. Ali

This story is about a girl called Asiya, who starts to wear hijab. She picks out a bright blue hijab from the hijab shop and wears it to school the next day. Asiya felt proud and brave in her hijab even though she got bullied and teased by other kids. That didn’t stop her from wearing hijab. Her younger sister described her as a princess.

My favourite quote from the story was the advice from Asiya’s mum who said: “Don’t carry the hurtful words that others say to you. Drop them. They are not yours to carry. They only belong to those that said them.”

I really liked this story. It made me feel proud to wear hijab too. Every time I wear hijab, I feel like a princess just like Asiya. May Allah make us all stay firm in our hijab for the rest of our lives. This was such an amazing book!
